In 1998 Corbie and Nancy Cross were called as missionaries to the southwest area of Alaska by The Alaska Mission for Christ. For three summers they lived on a houseboat on the Kuskokwim River while conducting summer servant events on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. Their ministry quickly spread beyond the river and they sold the boat to better able them to serve an ever widening area of ministry. They have had a presence in 21 different villages and now serve more than 10 villages on a regular basis. In the summer they receive over 100 volunteers to help with servant events that include vacation Bible schools, Christian athletic camps, adult and youth ministries, village wide fellowships and more. In the winter they return to the villages to do one-on-one ministry, evangelism camps, adult Bible studies and maintain contact with as many leaders in the Bush as possible. Since there are no roads out to this bush area they must first fly to the city of Bethel (Pop. 6,000) by jet and from there they travel in smaller airplanes and sometimes boats to get to the villages. Their goal is to help spread the Gospel to these remote areas of Alaska through the power of the Holy Spirit.
